Extreme Makeover: Playhouse Edition

We have spent the first two days of Spring Break remodeling Harper's swingset. Grandma & Boppy suprised Harper with a Spring Break Project on Sunday evening: stuff for a rock wall, disc swing and canopy for her swingset. The weather has been perfect and the only time Harper and Richard have been inside the past two days was to sleep. Harper even ate her lunch in her "playhouse" today. We even had to make a trip to Lowe's this morning for Harper to pick out some flowers for the flower box on the side of her playhouse. It has been a great Spring Break so far!

Really Long Night!

Just a little play-by-play for you...
Harper was coughing a lot at school yesterday, her teacher called and I took her some medicine. Yesterday evening she really didn't cough too much. She went to bed around 8:00 and the coughing started at 8:20 and she didn't finally stop coughing and fall asleep until around 10. About 12:30 she started again, and Richard got up to give her some medicine. I got up to go to the bathroom and didn't feel really well. We all went back to sleep. 2:00, I wake up out of a dead sleep with a HUGE contraction. Ouch! It finishes, I lay back down. Contractions continue, 1-4 mintues apart. I thought I was hungry, so I went to the living room, ate a banana and drank some water...watched a little TV and the contracitons continued. I woke Richard up, poor guy, I felt like he had just fallen asleep. Around 3:30, the contractions still about 1-4 minutes apart, we decided to go the hospital. My mom, thank you so much mom, rushed over to watch Harper and we headed out. Several hours at the hospital and many contractions later. The doctor said she didn't know what was causing the contractions, but I wasn't in labor. So, they gave me a shot of something to make the contractions stop. They did...but the side effects of the medicine might have been worse. It made me really jittery. I told Richard I felt like a drug addict. She gave me a pill to help me sleep and we got home around 7 am.
Long story, short...they told me to take everyday step by step and rest as much as possible. I should drink lots, lay down lots, and see the doctor early next week. On top of all that, Richard took Harper to the doctor today, as I was completely out of it, and she has double ear infections AGAIN! This makes 7 since January, so we are going to schedule with an ENT to check on tubes. Richard is a trooper and has been great taking care of his girls today! Thank you! What a great guy!

Dr. Day

Owen and I went to the doctor today. Everything was still GREAT! My glucose test came back perfect...Yippee! My blood pressure is awesome! Owen's hearbeat was wonderful! So nice to have confirmation that everything is ok.
However, as the doctor was looking at my belly...she said, "Now how much did your daughter weigh?" I told her 6 lbs. 2 oz. and she replied..."Well...expect a bigger one this time around. You are either really tiny or he is really big!" There you have it folks. I think Owen is going to take after his dad! :)

Perfect Swing!

WOW!!! This weather is perfect. Harper and I spent a great deal of time outside this evening. Alot of our flowers are starting to bloom, so we admired those. The rest of the time was spent swinging! Harper has loved to swing since she was a tiny baby. She was doing some crazy stunts (must have learned those at school!) and then by the end I think it was almost putting her to sleep. We had a wonderful evening!

Dr. Seuss Week

This week was Dr. Seuss Week at Harper's school. They celebrated each day by dressing up and reading a different book. They even made a different Dr. Seuss project in art everyday. The best part was the cafeteria served Green Eggs & Ham for breakfast on Monday. Don't kid yourself...Harper would even give the green eggs a second look. She turned up her nose and said they looked "icky"!
Monday was CRAZY SOCKS day and they read Fox in Socks.
Tuesday was TRAVEL SHIRT Day and they read Oh, the Places You'll Go! Harper wore her Grand Teton jacket and her Disney World 1st visit t-shirt underneath!

Wednesday was the best day...WACKY WEDNESDAY and they read Wacky Wednesday! Now if you will remember back to the dress up days at the beginning of the year...Harper wanted nothing to do with anything wacky. However, this time around, I totally talked it up. I let her pick out her ENTIRE outfit. Camo pants, Orange Shirt, Zebra Print Shoes and Stripped Headband. She was so pumped!

Thursday was DRESS FOR THE JOB YOU WANT day and they read Oh, the Thinks you can Think! When I asked Harper what she wanted to be she replied...of course...a doctor! However this time it had a stipulation. She wanted to be a doctor that wore a jean jacket. Whatever!

Today (Friday) was WEAR PJ's and they read The Sleep Book. The weather has been so nice here that we haven't really even had a chance to get any warm weather PJ's. She wanted to wear some fleece "feetie" pajamas, but once she found these from Grandma she was set! Such a fun Dr. Seuss Week!!!
