Another visit to the doc

We'll we loaded up the fam and headed to the doctor yesterday to get Baby Owen checked out.  Everything was going good.  His hearbeat was 154 again...good and strong.  I had gained a little more weight than last time (little is a realative term!...right?)  The doc said Owen is breech right now, but in the grand scheme of things...it really doesn't matter because I am having a C-section.  But I now know why I am having intense heartburn...his head is right up there and pushing!  Oh...and the doc said the heartburn could be from too much chocolate!  Ooops!  What can I say, Harper and I love baking!

I go back to the doc on the 24th of February and after that I start going every two weeks.  Where has the time gone?  Owen will be here before we know it...and I get more and more anxious each day!

Where were you when....

Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America? Even though the Barlow's did not vote for Obama, today was still a special piece of history. I lectured to my students about this all day long. I told them...30 years from now people will ask...Grandma/Grandpa do you remember the day...?

I didn't figure any of this would be of any concern to Harper, but on the way home from school today, she exclaimed (out of nowhere) "Mom, Barack Obama was the only winner!" As I almost wrecked the car, I realized...again...she is a little sponge. They must have watched it at school today and the teacher discussed that he won the Presidency. So just to make sure I wasn't dreaming, I googled a pic of Obama and Harper immediately said..."Thats him! He won!" So to commemorate this day for Harper...here is a picture of her with Barack Obama!

All the way to 20!

It is the little things that impress me the most. Tonight Harper counted all the way to 20...all by herself! Just a small slip up around seventeen, which she referred to as "eleventeen." But hey...I didn't know she could count that far. Aren't kids amazing?

Gymnastics...here we come!

Tonight was Harper's first night of Gymnastics lessons and boy did she have fun! Now...I didn't say she knew how to do everything...I didn't realize those long legs would get tangled so easily. It really was a laugh watching her and she was having a blast. She just boogied from station to station. I see Dance class in the future!!! Let's just say Harper's best "trick" of the night was posing at the end of the somersault. She has got the DRAMA down!!! :)

Belly Pics!

Since people have been asking...here you go! Belly pics at 22 weeks!
Harper can't resist touching my belly (...her brother as she says!) She rubs on it first thing in the morning, when I drop her off at school, when I pick her up from school, at bedtime and any other time inbetween.

Before the return to the Real World...

The Barlow house was Imagination Central the last week of Christmas Break. Harper was being a major HOME-BODY and didn't want to go anywhere. She was just having so much fun playing with her new Christmas presents. She spent a lot of time playing dress-up. Don't you love the pic above. Scrubs and "HEELS"!! Very appropriate! For some reason, I don't think that is what Aunt Melanie wears! :)
This is her new dress-up dress that Grandma T brought Harper. She LOVES to wear it and calls it her Wedding Dress. Again, notice the huge HEELS sticking out from underneath the dress. The girl can walk better in them than me!
Such a snuggly picture that I had to share. Right after bath is the best time! We had such a great time at home playing and cuddling! So much fun!
