Pumpkin Patch Excursion

It just wouldn't be fall without a trip to the local Pumpkin Patch.  We usually go, with our friends, on the weekend...but this year we were all pretty busy and decided to go on day after school.  It was not crowded at all (a little windy and cold) and we had run of pretty much the whole place.

The kids were really interested in the hay stacks this year. They would climb and climb to reach the top and then ride the very bumpy slide down. Owen loved jumping off the hay bales...what a boy! We got to take a hay ride around the field, but it was windy and the hay was blowing in our eyes. There wasn't much of a corn maze this year because of the extremely hot, dry summer...but the kids loved it because they didn't get lost! We looked at a few animals and rode the tricycles before heading to the patch to pick our pumpkins. We searched and searched until we we found some really big ones!

Crazy

Crazy describes Fall around our house...and I love it!  It seems that Fall brings lots of fun outings to blog, just seems like there is no time to blog about them.  Hopefully this week will be slower and I can get stories and pictures posted of all the fun things we have done lately!

A few weeks ago, Harper's school was celebrating Red Ribbon Week.  Monday was Crazy Hair Day and she was so excited!  Remember in the past, she did not want to participate in this at all.  So, now that she was psyched...I knew I had to make her hair SUPER crazy.  I started with a foam swimming pool ball, pulled all the hair up around it...added lots of hairspray and red glitter hairspray and topped it off with a bow.  Surprisingly enough, it last all day and she even got her picture in the local paper! Yea for Crazy Fall Fun!

Orange...Power!!!

Last Saturday we went to the OSU-KU game in Stillwater.  It was a blast!!!

To preface this post, I have to tell a story about Owen last week at daycare.  His daycare lady told me that the kids sit in highchairs on opposite sides of the kitchen and Owen had them all chanting "Orange!" from one side and "Power" from the other during lunch.  Then she went to the playroom to see what the commotion was a while later and he had all of them yelling, "Go Pokes!"  We don't brainwash our kids around here! :)

So this was actually a perfect time to load up the family and head to the land of orange!  We got to Stillwater in time to stop by Aunt Melanie and Uncle Cole's tailgate, then headed to "The Walk" to see the band (Owen's favorite), cheerleaders and football team.  When he saw Pistol Pete, Owen was so excited that he ducked his head in embarrassment, go figure.  Harper was in awe with the entire campus, asking many questions about going to class, when Mommy and Daddy were here, etc.  Again, no brainwashing was going on at all!

We got to spend some time with Aunt Cindy before the game at Johnny Rocket's and on the way to the game, we ran into our cousin Ethan and we were so glad to see him and his family.  Harper even got a chance to get a "tatted" up before the game!
We had a great time at the game.  We scored a TON and Owen got to see Bullet more times than we ever thought.  Owen was way in to yelling/chanting at the game.  Some of my favorites were...

It actually started to rain in the second half, so we decided to go ahead and head to the car.  The kids were pretty tired, but they both had an absolute BLAST!

I am so glad I can go HOME to Stillwater and take my kids with me to soak up some ORANGE!

We LOVE Tractors!

A few Fridays ago, Harper and I were out of school. It was perfect because it was the same day as the Thresing Bee in Fairview. Boppy came to get us early that morning and we head to pick up Grandma M...then we were off to the "bee." We got there and Owen's eyes were as wide as saucers as he admired all of the tractors. There were tractors of every shape and size to look at. Even steam tractors...which confused Owen because they sounded (and looked) like trains, but they weren't on a track. Harper loved watching the "thresing" of wheat and oats. She was also fascinated by the steam tractor that pulled a huge old house around. It was great weather and a great time!!! Gotta love the Fall...and Tractors!!!
