Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday (although very long ago...I'm behind in blogging!) was a beautiful day to celebrate.  The kids were excited to wake up and find that the Easter Bunny had made a stop at our house the night before.  The found their Easter baskets filled with goggles, a swim cap for Harper, a ball for Owen and of course...a chocolate bunny!!!

After they taste-tested the chocolate rabbits, we all got dressed up and headed to mass.  Easter morning is my absolute favorite...love the songs...love the instruments...and it was beautiful weather for all of it!

Later that afternoon, we gathered at my parent's house for a really yummy Easter dinner...and in grand tradition...an Easter Egg Hunt with enough eggs for all the children in town to hunt.  Problem was...there were only 3 kids (one was an infant).  Harper and Owen each had more eggs than they could handle and enough candy for all of the "big kids" to take home a ziploc full.  Not to mention the $$.  They ended up with about $10 each.  Way more than the pennies we used to find in our eggs!  Great fun on a perfect Easter day!!!

Easter Eggs--To Dye For!

Of course, it wouldn't be a complete Easter weekend without the dying of some good 'ol fashioned hard-boiled Easter eggs.  This year, I actually baked the eggs in muffin tins and it worked out great...none of them cracked...one problem...they didn't get done.  Oh well...I don't like to eat them anyways!
When I went to the store this year, they had a ton of different egg dying kits.  Every variety imaginable.  I put several choices in my basket, but when it was all said and done...I ended up with the plain egg dying kit with one white crayon.  It was simple, but perfect!!!  Harper and Owen had a great time teaching Hazen how to dye eggs too!

Thunder Up

Back in March, Harper's Basketball Team was invited to be the Little League Team of the night at the OKC Thunder Game.  Those girls were so excited, but secretly us parents might have been more excited than them!  They all got matching shirts and headed down the floor at the beginning of the game.  They got to stand in front of the players during the National Anthem...then they stood on the baseline while they warmed up.  Many of the players gave them high fives before the game and the girls were grinning from ear to ear!  Once the game started, they headed to the stands (way up high) to watch the rest of the game.  After it was over, Harper kept talking about how TALL all of the players were and how nice they were.  Great experience!!!  Go Thunder!

Magic Kingdom, Again--Day #6

It just wouldn't seem right if we didn't spend the entire last day of our trip at THE most magical place on Earth...Magic Kingdom!  Although it was sad times since it was our last day, we had an absolutely wonderful time and partied until the wee hours of the morning.  We squeezed every last second out of that place!!!  We had a wonderful, much needed vacation and we can't wait to go back!

Disney's Hollywood Studios--Day #5

By Day #5, we were getting a little tired...but Hollywood Studios provided a nice pick-me-up.  We FINALLY (after 3 visits to Disney World) were able to ride Toy Story Mania.  The wait for this is tremendously long, but I sprinted to the back as soon as the gates opened to get Fast Passes.  Not to mention, we were able to ride it a couple of other time while we waited.  It was totally worth it!

Harper is so brave and this time she was finally tall enough to ride Rock N Roller Coaster.  Her and I went first and it was pretty intense.  She loved it and even went again with Richard!

Playing around on the movie sets!  Tons of fun....actually made me wish I was in NYC again!

Owen's favorite part...the Car Stunt Show.  Complete with Lightning McQueen!

We ended the evening at Mickey's Backyard BBQ.  The food was spectacular and the dancing was a blast.  Owen was a little shy at first, but get a ice cream bars in him and he is the life of the party!
