Growin' Up!

Recently, both kiddos have had their yearly Well "Baby/Child" checkups. And the stats are in...

Harper (5 years)
Height: 46" (above the 97% percentile)
Weight: 42.5 lbs. (75%)
Talk about a tall skinny girl! Slim Jeans Only for her!!!! She is at least a head taller than EVERYONE in her Pre-K class, but blends in nicely with the kindergartners! Love it! :)

Owen (1 year)
Height: 28.5" (10% percentile)
Weight: 18.2 lbs. (just over 3%)
We are so excited that Owen finally got over the 3rd% in weight. Lots of Whole Milke for that Little Guy! But he is getting much taller. Trying to walk must STRETCH him out! :)

The Olympics!

On Thursday, Harper once again participated in her gym's annual Olympics. It was fantastic to see the improvements she has made in the past year. Show loves going to gymnastics and can't wait until she is old enough to go to the "big" gym with the older girls. Her coordination has improved greatly since she started gymnastics and she has so much going with her great teachers and friends!

In her words, she was the "caboose" at the Olympics. She was the last one to walk in but did a grand job of flying her flag, smiling and walking to the beat of the music. She got to showcase her talent in a floor routine (she is still a little "leggy" on the cartwheels), on the bars, and on the beam (her best event by far)!

It is so fun to watch our little Olympian! Way to Go Harper!

We Love Junie B. Jones!

For Harper's Birthday, Grandma Toni took her to Wichita to the Uptown Children's "Lunch" Theater to see Junie B. Jones the Musical and I got to go along! Since Harper has been in Pre-K, she has become very fond of Junie B. Jones books. They are hilarious chapter books about a very energetic Kindergartner. We love reading them together and Harper was so excited to get to see the musical. She was equally excited to get to go "out of town" and stay in a hotel. The hotel we stayed at had an indoor pool and she was so exicted to practice her swimming skills before summer begins.

The Uptown Dinner Theater was outstanding. Since this was a Children's show the cuisine matched...mac & cheese, hotdogs, chicken nuggets, applesauce and sugar cookies! It was such a wonderful show and a magnificent weekend...especially since it was Mother's Day weekend! Thanks Grandma for the FUN!

A First Time for Everything!

As if it hasn't been emotional enough around here...Owen turning ONE...Harper turning FIVE...I decided to just get all of the emotion out of the way the past few weeks.
On Owen's actual birthday, I took him to get his very First Haircut! He had the most precious blonde curls, but they were getting a bit out of control and I promised my family that he would get a haircut when he turned one. Some of you might remember that I didn't get Harper's cut until she was two! Owen did a great job getting his haircut. He sat in my lap and squirmed quite a bit for Miss Kelley. But the end result was amazing. He went in as a baby and came out a little boy!

Thursday before Harper's birthday, she got her EARS PIERCED! Richard and I had decided a long time ago that we would let her decide when she wanted to get them pierced. She has been saying for awhile that she will do it when she turned five. Well...out of the blue one day, she said..."Am I turning five?"..."Well, I guess it is time to get my ears pierced now." She asked quite a few questions about what they would look like, how bad it would hurt, etc...but I decided that when she was ready I would not force her. That day we had to go to the mall to pick up her cookie cake for her school b-day party. She was pumped for the whole piercing extravaganza. She walked into the store, told the lady what she wanted, hopped up into the chair and didn't cry one bit! Talk about a big girl! We were so proud of her!!!

The Hoedown!

Finally, as I promised...pics from the kids' birthday party a week ago.
I think it is going to become a tradition around here that we have a moonbounce at every birthday party. Harper just doesn't think it is complete without one. This year, Harper picked a different one with a sports theme. It was so much fun and the weather was perfect. Richard cooked out hamburgers and hotdogs, my mom made some fabulous potato salad, and we all had root beer to drink. It was a cowoby-riffic time!

{She is hanging on for dear life!}

{The best part of turning ONE!}
Owen got his very own cake and boy did he love it. He already has a sweet tooth, but this topped it all off. He dug right into the cake and wasn't holding back. When he finally got all of the icing off, he grabbed the cake and pushed the entire thing off of his tray! Needless to say, he got a big bath after this!!!

{Anybody want a kiss?}

{Wishing BIG!}

A Cowboy Birthday...

was held at our house on Sunday to celebrate Harper's 5th and Owen's 1st Birthdays with family and friends! We grilled out hotdogs and hamburgers, drank lots of Root Beer, jumped on a super fun moonbounce and ate yummy cupcakes! I just had to post some pictures of the decorations. Some more party pics to come...
