Red Ribbon Week

Every year, Harper gets to dress up for Red Ribbon Week.  She has really gotten into participating and I LOVE School Spirit.  I am lucky that she is overflowing with it!!!
Monday was PJ Day...

Tuesday was "I Have Better Things to Do Than Drugs" Day and she wore her ballet attire.

Wednesday was "Peace Out to Drugs" Day and we had to go with the bell bottoms again.

Great message and great fun!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from our pumpkins to yours!

Pumpkin Poems

At the beginning of October, Harper's class did their presentation/performance in her school's morning assembly.  This year, her teacher sent home a paper plate and Harper got to decorate it like a pumpkin.  Her's has big googly eyes and glitter makeup...of course.  She spent time in class writing her very own poem about her pumpkin.  Here it is:

Ava the pumpkin has big, bright eyes.
Her big eyes make people say Oh My!
She is kind
and she is mine.

We practiced for several days reading our poem aloud and putting emphasis on some of the words.  She is dramatic at heart!  A natural!  :)  On the day of her presentation, she did an excellent job.  Even their principal commented on how neat it was that they wrote their own poems!  So cool!

***On the way in that morning, we had to stop by the main bulletin board.  Harper's class had written their own instructions on how to carve a pumpkin.  My favorite one on hers..."You have to scoop it out with your hands!"  Her favorite part!
