Friday Night in the Big Town

Yesterday evening, Richard, Harper and I headed to the big town of Stillwater to watch a little Cowgirl Soccer action. We had an absolute blast!After school was out, we hurried and got our ORANGE on and made the trek to Cowboy country. We arrived in town just in time to Chris' University Spirit before they closed. Richard and I both got a new shirt and Harper got a OSU Cowboy Cheerleading Bear! (It wouldn't have been my choice, but that is what she picked.)
We then went to eat at Eskimo Joe's. I know it is a sin not to eat at Hideaway, but we actually had it earlier in the week in OKC. At Joe's Richard and I each got a huge plate of their famous cheese fries! I think it's been 5 years since I have had them and I just forgot how yummy they are!
After dinner, we had a few minutes to spare and took Harper for a walk around the campus. She thought the library fountain was pretty neat! We even took her over to Willard so Rich and I could reminisce.

"Finally" as Harper said...we got to the soccer game. It was a gorgeous evening. No wind, and descent temperatures. Harper was so excited to see the Cowgirls, she was dancing around and clapping when they were introduced. She watched the game for a little bit, but then wanted to know if they had any popcorn. So we had a snack and ended up leaving at half time. Friday night was a perfect Fall evening!

This last one is kind of cheesy...but she was so pumped about the game. She didn't want to stop and pose!

Forever...

Ok...I told you, once school got in session I would forget the whole blogging thing. But I'm trying to stick to it. I have a ton of stuff to update everyone on...so here it goes!

Two Fridays ago, we kicked off the Fall season with the first home "Miller" football game against our biggest rival...the Mustang Broncos. Harper was so excited for the game, she was beside herself the entire week. She would spontaneously shout, "Go Millers!" during the middle of dinner, at the store, or in the bath. She loves the football season. So...that Friday night we grabbed a burger and headed to the game. She was all dressed up in Miller gear (pom pons and all!). We actually stood on the sidelines because the game was so crowded, but she got to feel the new turf and she thought that was too cool. The Millers lost big time, but Harper didn't care. She can't wait for the next game.

Last Friday, Harper had a awesome morning with Richard. It was Donuts with Dads day at her school. I am so jealous...am I like the only one who hasn't gotten to eat with her at school? Anyways, they had an awesome time eating yummy donuts and hanging out with her friends. I don't know if I've told you yet...but I think I just might be more excited than Harper about this whole school thing. It is just soooo COOL!

Corn Dogs, Rides, and Caramel Apples....

All of those things mean Fall...and Fall means the Great State Fair of Oklahoma. I LOVE the fair and so does Harper! We went Thursday night with Granny and Grandpa and then turned around and went Saturday with Grandma and Boppy. We had an absolute blast both times. Harper loves looking at the animals and they had some of the cutest baby pigs this year. They were so tiny. I of course love all of the food. My dad and I tried a swirly spud this year and it was delicious. But let's see, in both visits, I ate a pork burger, 2 corn dogs, swirly spud, 2 jugs of root beer and an indian taco. DELICIOUS!!!

Happy Belated Grandparent's Day!

Happy Bleated Grandparent's Day to all of Harper's grandparents. Sunday flew by and I forgot to get e-cards out to everyone.
Harper had a special Grandparent's Day at school on Monday. All of the kiddos got to invite their grandparents to eat lunch with them at school. So...Grandma Toni and Granny both got to go to school and have some "yummy" cafteria lunch with Harper. They had hamburgers and french fries... and of course MILK!
Grandma Toni said it was so great to see Harper in the school setting. I was afraid to ask, but she said Harper was very polite and very well behaved. Wheewww! One relieved mother!
Harper has had a really tough week, I was gone to a conference on Monday and Tuesday and even though she was well taken care of...things were just a bit off wack. But she is getting settled back into her routine and can't wait for Friday. Friday morning is DONUTS WITH DADS at Harper's school. Richard will get to take her to school and eat donuts in the cafeteria with her. FUN! I am just wondering when it is going to be my turn! :)

More Harperisms!

Today was certainly a blast from the past when I picked Harper up from school. In her backpack was a Scholastic Book Order Form. Do you remember those? I loved ordering from those and it just seems like yesterday. I will have to refrain from ordering everything, but there are a few books in there for $1-$3. Not too bad!

I was talking to two of Harper's teachers when I picked her up today and I got some great insight into how Harper is at school. They told me she is a little leader. Today she told the kids, "Come on everyone get in a circle." and all the kids hurried into position. The teacher said...she will be class president some day. Let's just hope she doesn't end up bossy like her mom! :)

Earlier in the day, Harper came up to the teacher with a blue my little pony. She said she couldn't play with it because, "it is out of air. Can you fill it back up please?" Where does she get this stuff?

This week they have been learning about themselves, friends and families. Today was about them. They colored a picture of themselves and answered some questions to put at the bottom. The teacher told me to make sure and read Harper's. Here is what it said (oh and by the way she colored her hair purple!)
I am a...girl
My eyes are...blue
My hair is...curly
I like...ELEPHANTS!...ours are in Tulsa!
Yep she is still stuck on those silly elelphants. The teacher said she launched into a humoungous story about the elephants for a simple "I like..." statement.

Harper is like an elephant...she never forgets a thing!

First Homework Assignment!

This weekend, Harper had her very first homework assignment/project from school. I was much more excited than she was. :)

The task: Fill a big white posterboard with pictures of friends and family so everyone at school can learn more about Harper.

Mission: Accomplished!!!

First we had to gather the supplies...Harper, Richard, Grandma T, and I headed to Michael's Friday night to get some paper and stickers to decorate the poster. I let Harper pretty much have free reign on the stickers. She picked out one kind for each person...Farm ones for Boppy, Lady Bug for Grandma, Bandaids for Melanie, Trains for Cole, Trees for Grandpa, Turtles for Preston and...Turkeys for Grandma T! Yep, that is right Turkeys! Grandma T always calls her a turkey, so Harper thought those would be perfect!
This weekend, we had to gather the troops for some picutres, and some I dug up from the archives...but I think just about everyone is on there. Harper pushed all the buttons on the Cricut to cut out her name. She stuck everything down, with a little guidance of course, but it really turned out good. But as Richard says..."would it turn out any other way...it's a Marks project!" :)

Labor Day Weekend!

Wow! We had a fantastic weekend!

We went to Canton Lake with Grandma, Boppy, Melanie, and Cole. Harper had a great time playing in the sand...as usual. She sure does love "sandy beach" as she calls it. We even got to spend the night in our "vacation home"...aka the RV. It is just so much fun to go out on the lake and ride around. Very relaxing, which is what we all needed this Labor Free Weekend! I hope everyone else had the same.
