O Happy Day!

Happy Father's Day to our Daddy! And to all the Dads out there! We got to spend Father's Day at the Lake this year. Everyone else had the same idea...it was crowded. But we still had a lot of fun. It was Owen's First Lake Adventure and he thought it was ok. A little windy and hot...but ok! Harper got to play on "Sandy Beach" and Richard and I got to swim a little bit. The lake is so refreshing! It has to be the most relaxing place ever!

Rich- Thanks for being the best Dad two kids could ever ask for! We hope you had a great DAY!

Happy Father's Day to Boppy Too!!!

Signs of Summer

Well...Summer is officially H-O-T! And what better way to cool off than in the water. Harper has been spending alot of time in the water over the past two weeks. A variety of water adventures = a much cooler little girl! (And a much warmer Mommy! Water activities are very HOT to watch!) Hope everyone is staying cool! :)

Playing in her Dora Sprinkler Hopscotch!

At Swimming Lessons!

And a trip to the Lake!

Making Bread!!!

Last week Harper got to "Make Bread" with her Boppy...aka Cut Wheat! Check out Richard's Blog for the full story!

My Baby is 6 Weeks Old!

Six weeks always seems like that mark with babies that it is time to start the "Real Life." Postpartum medical stuff is over...the newness has pretty much worn off and it is really time to get the ball rolling on life as a family of four. And wow...did 6 weeks come quick! Owen is just as precious as can be. He is the best baby...ever! He never cries and only whimpers when he is hungry. He has been having a terrible time of spitting up...but that just means I get to change his clothes 3-4 times per day! And I thought having a boy meant I would get to play dress up anymore! :)

He is growing so fast and started smiling this week! He smiled his very first smile at Harper. She was making faces and talking to him on his changing table and there it was...the biggest baby smile EVER! And I know it wasn't gas! These are a few pics from last week.

The Festival

Last weekend, Ethan stopped by and joined us at the Chisholm Trail Festival. Him and Harper had a blast. We took Harper for the first time last year and we were so impressed by all of the kids activities...and the best part is it is all FREE! The kids had a wonderful Saturday!

Ethan's Favorite Part...riding the Train! Harper said, "Mom, he talked the whole time." Just wait until her brother gets to this stage!

Richard and Owen hanging out!
Riding Horses! Harper never ever rides ponies at these things, but she remembered that this Festival has the "Pony with the Pink Saddle!" She will ride...as long as she gets the one with the pink saddle!

Soccer Season

Harper is back at Soccer again this year! She plays on a rec league for 3-5 year olds. The games are indoors on a basketball court and there are only 4 players from each team on the "court" at once. It is more for building soccer skills than actual competition...they don't keep score and the parents can go out there with the kids if they want to. Many of you might remember that it took the entire season last year for Harper to actual play without holding mine or Richard's hand. She started out MUCH better this year! She even kicked the ball a few times! Yeah for Soccer!

P.S. Harper is on the CRIMSON team! Yikes...could there be a worse color for our family. I was half tempted to tie ORANGE and BLACK ribbons to her sleeves in protest! :)

Summer Is Here!

Well...the first week of Harper's summer is almost over. Wow it has been fun!

Monday her friend Gracen got to come over to play for awhile...they had a good time and played with Everything!

Tuesday was ZOO DAY!!! Harper got to go to Story Time at the Zoo and they talked about Giraffes! She even got to make a cool hat and have a juice box and cookies. Owen really didn't care if he was at the Zoo or not, he just loves being outside.

Wednesday was a rainy day around here. A little disappointing because we were going to Walk to the library to check out some books...and Harper wasn't going if we couldn't walk. So I finally convinced her to go in the car, becuase we didn't want to get the books wet! At the library, we read a few books, played with the puppet show stuff, did some puzzles and even found an Easy Reader for Harper to work on her reading skills. She can read a few pages (just two words per page) and she is so proud of herself.

Yesterday, Thursday, we resumed Gymnastics...in the morning during the summer! It was great for Harper to be back with kids her own age in an organized setting. She was so happy too! And last night was our FIRST soccer game of the season. Another post to come about that!

Today we rounded out the week by taking in a movie. We all went to see UP, the new Pixar film and it was amazing!!!

I LOVE SUMMER!

Owen's Baptism

Last Sunday, the 31st (Aunt Melanie's, the godmother's birthday...special day!), Owen was baptized at our church. Unlike Harper's Baptism, Owen was able to be baptized during Mass. It was perfect! He didn't cry at all and the ceremony went off without a hitch. Harper even got to walk to the front of the congregation with Father to introduce Owen to the Church. Afterwards, the whole family headed over to my parents' for a fantastic lunch! Sunday was a day that made my heart SMILE! :)

5 Weeks Old!

Owen is officially 5 Weeks Old TODAY!!! Wow, time flies. It seems just like yesterday we had him, but yet it seems like he has been here the whole time. Here are a few pictures from the last several weeks that I will be using in his Tuesday Book! Summer has officially started at our house...so there will be many more posts to come! :)
