Wow, I can't believe that it is only4 days until Owen's scheduled arrival. I am so excited to see him and to finally figure out if he looks anything like Harper. I have had several dreams that he came out bald. Look at this pic of Harper and remember her really long, thick black hair.

Celebrating Oklahoma History!

Over 120 years ago, the Oklahoma Land Run took place in this great state! Harper was so lucky to get to experience some of the festivities to commemorate this great day in history. Land Run Day was a success!

I decided Thursday was going to be my last day at school. The contractions are still consistent and the kids are still demanding...the two didn't mix. So, Friday I headed up to Harper's school to watch her participate in some "old fashioned" games.

She played "Kick the Can" soccer! Her soccer season last year yeilded good results, she loved this game!

She threw horseshoes and tried to "clang" them on the stick...as she says!

They even had spoon races. They let the 3 year olds use golf balls instead of eggs...thank goodness. Needless to say Harper was running and the golf ball kept falling off. But my smart little girl wasn't going to loose. She just grabed the ball with her hand and RAN like the wind! Needless to say...she finished first, but was disqualified! :)

They had sack races! She wasn't too sure about this one so her teacher had to help her.

And...they had a stick horse race! Again, she wasn't too sure about this. But then she comes by it naturally...right Aunt Melanie. I think Harper was just scared of the store bought horse. I guess we could have gotten the one handmade with love that Aunt Melanie had as a kid. Needless to say...she didn't use it! :) Sorry sis...I thought this was too funny!

The last station of the day was making butter! I think this was one of Harper's favorites. She loved jumping around and shaking the jar.

At the end of the morning, the kids ate their "land run" lunches. Harper packed hers in a "hankie" and had PB&J. Yummy!

Again...a little late...but Happy Earth Day!

Harper is one kid that LOVES holidays and thinks she needs an outfit to celebrate each one. Of course her mommy and grandma oblige!

EASTER!

A little late but...

Happy Easter Everyone!

Our Easter weekend began with an Citywide Easter Egg Hunt at a local park. Harper was so pumped to hunt eggs when we got there and she saw them all...but things quickly turned south! To start the egg hunt, they have the fire engines turn on their sirens and since we have been in school this year and learned about fire safety, she is deathly afraid of anything "Fire" related. So, this signal prompted TOTAL CHILD MELTDOWN. From that point on, she wouldn't hunt eggs. We did manage to get five eggs! It is fun to laugh at NOW!!!

Sunday morning, Harper woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had left an array fo goodies. Not to mention her favorite...a BIG chocolate bunny! She had seen them at the store for weeks and was so excited she got one of her very own.

After that we headed off to Easter Morning Mass...so much fun to see our church transofrmed into a sanctuary of gorgeous spring flowers! Harper absolutely loves church and she was so pumped this day because of all the extra instruments, songs, and flowers!

Last but not least, we celebrated Easter with Grandma and Boppy and family that evening. What a wonderful Easter weekend!

Back In Action!

We're Baaaaack!


Wow, what a busy bunch of days. I will try to give you a quick run down on all of the happenings in the Barlow household the last two and a half weeks.

Spring Break ended with a trip to Tulsa for a little fun before Brother Owen gets here. Harper LOVES hotels, so we decided to get a hotel and let her play the night away. We actually took my Grandma to Muskogee to stay with family and then headed to Tulsa. While we were there, we shopped a little, ate ALOT and played even more. We took Harper to the Melting Pot for desert to let her try fondue and she feel in love. She had so much fun dipping her strawberries in the chocolate. She even bought herself a GAP hat with her spending money. She ended up wearing that hat for about the next three days straight!

Then school started back...it sure was hard to wake up those first few days back. Back to school after Spring Break is also the start of PROM season for me. Being the prom sponsor is a ton of fun...when your not pregnant. Oh well! I am determined to make it! Our theme this year is Manhattan Lights, kind of a modern New York theme. All WHITE, BLACK and SILVER! I spend the first few weeks back at school working on prom stuff at school and meeting the class officers up there in the evenings to get stuff done.

The weather seemed to be nice for a few days, then bad...then it snowed! Harper loved it...well it turned into mud faster than anything! It is finally turning nice again.

Last Friday...Harper had a Pride Assembly at her school. All of the kids get dressed in their best attire and they celebrate attendance, grades, etc. She was so excited to wear her "fancy" dress that once she got it on she pranced around the house all Friday morning! Needless to say by the end of the day, and after all the playground time, the tights were full of grass and twigs and the dress was stained with spaghetti. Oh well!

It is so hard to believe that it is only 20 days until our baby brother arrives! I only have 11 days of school left. Not that I am counting! :) I will try to post pictures of Owen's room soon now that it is FINALLY finished! Here is a little snapshot of my HUGE stomach at about 37 weeks.
