It's Fall Y'all!

We loaded up the fam and headed to pumpkin patch recently. We were so lucky to find this pumpkin patch last year. It is a blast! Haystacks to play in, barrel train to ride, farm animals to feed, corn cannons to shoot, tractor with hay trailers to ride on, tire horses to ride and the best part of all....a REAL pumpkin patch! Not the kind that the people drive around and dump pumpkins out in the morning. This place is a real pumpkin farm. You walk out there and cut pumpkins and gourds right off the vines!


We had a great time because this year we had Owen! Harper brought along her little purple wagon to haul the pumpkins out of the field. We harvested quite a variety before we had to stop...the wagon was full! It was a little muddy, but that didn't stop a girl and her cowboy boots!

Harper claims her favorite thing was jumping between the hay bales. Owen just loved being outside. Fall is wonderful!

Man Down!

Owen is finally back on his feet again after an interesting few days. Wednesday, he had a little case of the runs. I thought it might just be because he might be teething, but I was wrong. Thursday morning he woke up with a diaper full of really bad diarrhea. By the time we got him dressed, it happened again. We arrived at the daycare around 7:30 and he was dirty again. I got him out of his carseat and he started trying to throwup...but nothing was there. He got really pale and lethargic. I put him right back in the seat and brought him home. At 8 am, I called the pediatrician who recommended we go to the hospital to get him checked out. We headed to Children's since I felt they would be ones who knew the most about a 5 1/2 month old. After 4 hours and two bottles of Pedialite, we were on our way home with a case of the STOMACH FLU! Yuck! Today, he is finally getting back to normal. Our little man is STRONG again!!!

Our Orange Adventure!

Just got home from what could quite possibly be the most fun we have had as a family this fall! Great weather, Hanging with the Fam, Hideaway Pizza, Homecoming Walkaround, Garth Brooks, Pistol Pete, The OSU Cowboys and a Sea of ORANGE! What could be better?

Friday afternoon we loaded up and headed to Stillwater for The Greatest Homecoming Celebration on Earth at Oklahoma State University. When we got into town, we hurried over to look at all of the awesome house decs. Harper has been to Homecoming every year since birth, but the look of amazement on her face is priceless each time. She was in awe! Owen's eyes were as big as saucers as we walked around taking in all of the festivities. We even got our family pic taken with Pistol Pete!

Friday evening we went "Camping" in our vacation home (as Harper calls it!). My parents brought their trailer up to Stillwater and we stayed in a village of fellow OSU "Campers"! There is just something so peaceful about sleeping in the trailer. I guess it is just as close as I can sleep to my kiddos without them being in the bed with me! :)

This morning, Harper, Richard, and Boppy made the short trip home so Harper could go to her T-ball game. Good thing because there were only 3 other kids there! My mom and I shopped around Stillwater for a few hours. I actually got some Christmas shopping done for the kids!

The afternoon brought the Homecoming Parade! Aunt Mel and Uncle Cole joined us on the side of Main Street to take in the parade. It was so fun to see Harper decked out in her OSU attire, pom poms and all! Owen slept, but woke up when the police car leading the parade advised us of its presence...

One of the most exciting things of all...Garth Brooks was one of the parade marshals, along with Barry Sanders and Robin Ventura. There is just something exciting about being that close to Garth Brooks, a fellow Miller!...sorry Barry!

After the awesome parade, we got to take a pedicab ride to Hideaway Pizza to eat dinner. Boy did that guy earn his money. He literally pedalled Richard, me, Harper, Owen, Mel and Cole all the way from the parade to the restaurant. He earned every bit of that tip. Harper thought it was so fun!

We ended the fantastic weekend with The Walk! It was so fun to cheer on the Cowboys as they made their way to the stadium. If only we didn't have two small kids and an 8:15 pm kick-off time, we might have gone to the game. But now we are home in our cozy abode watching the game on TV!

Cereal Party!

Can you believe it? Where has the time gone? I can't believe that Owen is 5 months old already and it is time to start him on baby food! A week ago, we had a Rice Cereal Party at our house. Really it was more like a spectator sporting event. Owen ate...we watched! And laughed! Grandma, Boppy, Grandma T, Daddy, Mommy and Harper watched Owen eat his Rice Cereal for the first time. One of our friends described the experience perfectly the other day..."it is like feeding them milk with a spoon." On the first bite, most of the cereal just ran right out of his mouth...but he eventually got the hang of it. It was like, once it hit his belly he realized it was yummy!

Since this first experience, I've mixed it much thicker and he likes it so much more. He is now on green beans also. But, they weren't as successful as the cereal. He gagged after each bite of green beans. It was a huge GAG after the green beans hit the back of his throat...so I've just been mixing them with the cereal and he doesn't know the difference. Maybe he will like some of the other foods better. We shall see!

Owen's New Buddy

This post is way overdue...but without delay...

A few Fridays ago, Owen got to meet his new buddy Westynn Cole for the first time! They are just 4 months apart and I know will be best buddies and playmates soon! We were all excited to get to see our new "cousin" (as Harper calls Preston, Cambree & Westynn). We had a great trip to Kansas and greatly enjoyed our visit with our friends! Thanks for the fun guys!

Home Run Club...

well...not quite a homerun...but a hit and a run to first!

Harper is having a great time playing indoor t-ball this fall! And her Daddy is having a good time coaching...mostly just a bunch of high fives and pats on the back! Just this week Harper finally got into the game. She was chasing the ball and gave it a good "umphf" to throw the ball home. She is a pretty good hitter, we just have to concentrate on hitting and then tossing the bat to the side. She has kind of combined those into one solid motion!

Hilarious moment at last week's game...Harper hits the ball right down the line to first base. The kid on the other team dives for the ball...right in Harper's way. So, she is running as hard as she can until she gets to the kid...stops, politely steps over him...and continues to sprint to the base. The whole crowd was laughing. Yea for T-Ball!!!
