Downtown WaterWorks

On Tuesday Harper, Owen and I went with the Hoke Family to play in the water "sprayers" in downtown OKC. We had taken them there before, but it was after going out to eat, so they had to play in their clothes. This time, we were preparred and Harper wore her swimsuit. (Secretly I think they had more fun in their clothes!) Suprisingly, the water is really warm coming out of the fountains. Harper had a great time Splashing Around! A perfect HOT summertime activity!

Owen even joined the fun!

She's A Grand Old Flag...

Happy Belated 4th of July to Everyone! We had a wonderful time on the 4th and our day was filled with lots of activities. We got to spend the first part of the day at Aunt Melanie and Uncle Cole's neighborhood party. The festivities started with a PARADE! It was a very small parade, but fun none the less! Harper and Owen rode in the Gator which had been transformed into a Real American Float by our entire family last week. Richard even topped it all off with Harper's iPod and speakers playing "She's a Grand Old Flag" really loud. We even gave Harper a bucket of candy that she threw to the spectators...all 7 of us! Although she was timid at first, Harper did a great job driving the parade...Owen did a great job of sleeping! Harper and Owen won the prize for Most Parade Like Entry! Yippee!

After the parade, we sat in the park and the neighborhood association cooked out hot dogs and we had putluck sides and dessert! Yummy! Harper got to participate in a cake walk...and she won! They also had a golf chipping contest...but the boys didn't win. By the end of the day...Harper and Owen were so tired, they went to bed around 8. Maybe she can stay up late enough to see the fireworks when she is 5! This was one of the most relaxing, All American 4th of July's I have had in a long time!

Baby Owen was born and it seems like we have had him our whole lives. Owen went for his two month check up last week and his stats were...

Weight: 10 lbs. 14 oz. (10% percentile)
Height (or length since he doesn't stand!): 22 inches (25% percentile)
and his head...50% percentile!

He is growing and changing so much and is really getting to be FUN! He smiles ALL of the time and "talks" on command! :) We make him do his tricks all of the time! In fact, last night he laughed for the first time! I had him in the bath and was tickling him and smiling (and doing my tricks for him!) and he smiled a HUGE smile and let out a little "ahuh, ahuh, ahuh" belly laugh. I think he actually startled himself. I can't wait for Richard to hear it.
I should knock on wood before I type this...but he has slept from 8 pm until 6 am the past three nights. Wow! I don't remember Harper sleeping through the night this early.

When Owen went to the doctor, he had to get three vaccine shots and one oral vaccine. Harper came along for the ride and held his hand. She kept saying, "It will be all right brother." All the while he is screaming bloody murder! But he calmed down quickly. He spent the next two days a little sleepy and calm but is all better now.

A Visit From Cousin Gus!

Harper and Owen's cousin Gus came to America for a visit a week or so ago. He lives in Germany right now and the last time we saw him he was still a baby. Now he is all grown up and so much fun! He is precious! Harper was ecstatic to have a playmate for five straight days. (Harper even got to see her other favorite playmate Ethan for two days!) She misses Gus so much and can't wait for his next visit. While Gus was here, we got to do lots of really fun things! His visit helped make our summer a blast!
