At the end of April, Harper celebrated her First Communion at church. It was such a special time, one that I had been thinking of for a very long time. I just can't believe that she is already old enough to be at this point in her spiritual journey. Seems like Baptism was just yesterday! Harper took the whole process of First Communion very serious...she studied hard at RE class and memorized several important prayers. She was also very excited about picking out her dress. She was more into the "look like a wedding dress" dresses, but we compromised on one that fit her age more.
The day of her First Communion she got all gussied up and we headed to church. She was even selected to say one of the prayers in front of the whole congregation. We are so blessed that so many friends and family were able to attend and celebrate with Harper. The best thing about First Communion is that every Sunday...she gets to celebrate again. I think she is up to her Sixth or Seventh Communion now! :)

Owen Tractor Birthday
Since Owen's actual birthday was on the weekend, we celebrated with his friends at school the Friday before. He was dead set on having a Tractor birthday party at school. So...the planning began. My dad went the John Deere store by the farm and found John Deere plates and goodie boxes. They were absolutely precious. I brought pizza and juice boxes for the kids to have for lunch...and Owen insisted on having tractor cookies for dessert. And what Owen wants...his Grandma gets! So Grandma and Boppy set out on a hunt for a tractor cookie cutter...to no avail. Grandma and Boppy ended up "handcrafting" John Deere cookies for Owen's class. They were perfect! Owen had an excellent "Tractor" birthday with his friends!

Princess Run & Dude Dash
Again this year, Harper & Owen were so excited to get to run in their very own race...the Prince Run and Little Dude's Dash. This year, both of the races were 1.2 miles and because of all of the construction downtown by the river they had to actually start the race and finish the race by running over a huge overpass. It made my legs burn just thinking about it. Several of their friends got to run with them this year and they were so excited. Harper ran without an adult...big kid...and Richard ran with Owen. He said that Owen ran almost the entire way...only stopping to walk a few times. It was a great event and they had a ton of fun running...maybe just as much fun playing on the playground before the race though! :)

Batter Up!
Owen started his first year of outdoor "real" Tball this Spring and he absolutely loves it! He is on the Avengers team with a bunch of his friends and let me tell you...they are a hoot! It has been so rainy here this spring that we haven't had very many games...lots of makeup games coming up. These pictures are from Owen's first game. This game was filled with lots of firsts for him...he was the first kid to be catcher and the first one on his team to bat. He was in love with the catcher's gear because he was acting like a Rescue Bot..."Autobots...transform!" He struck out his first time at bat, but has done great since then. For being so little, he can actually hit the ball pretty hard. He has had so much fun this season and I can't wait watch his love of sports grow!
