Hazen is One!

On September 11th, our sweet baby cousin, Hazen, turned ONE!  He had an absolutely adorable Dr. Seuss Party!  He loved his party...but he loved his cake even more!

Fall Racing Season is Here!

One of my absolute favorite things about fall is that it is the start of RACE SEASON!!  We started on with the Spirit Sprint, a local 5K.  It was still pretty warm, but it was a ton of fun.  Harper ran hard, but was getting hot...she still pulled through and placed 2nd in her age division.  Gracen got 1st.  Way to go girls!

Next up was the 5K to support our HS girls basketball team.  It was a course that took us around the track and then around the HS campus.  This race was really cold!  Richard started off running with Harper and Gracen and I pushed Owen in the stroller.  Richard switched me out midway and he and Owen took off.  I stayed with the girls, who were tired but still chugging along.  They ran hard and ended up finishing 1st and 2nd in their age division again!  And guess what...I finished 1st in my age division!  First race I have ever won...now it wasn't a big race, but I was not the only person in my age division!

The next morning, several teachers and counselors from school went with me to walk the Susan G. Komen 5K.  It was a great way to celebrate one of our colleagues who is battling breast cancer.  It was hard to just walk the course, but it was awesome to be surrounded by friends!

Labor Free Day at the Aquarium

It has become a tradition of ours to go to the Jenks Aquarium on Labor (I always say Labor Free day...because no labor was going on this day!) Day.  We always have so much fun looking at all of the strange and cool creatures.  Richard even got a chance to see his favorite South Carolina beach friend...the jellyfish!
They had several new exhibits and the kids had a blast climbing and out and on almost everything.  They even got to feed the stingrays...their all-time favorite.  I was an awesome adventure!

Rumble and the Battle of the Bands

At the start of the school year, our HS always hosts a Battle of the Bands competition.  It is usually outside at the park, but this year it was raining.  So we went to our old HS gym instead.  Harper and Owen always love going to hear the bands...although sometimes they are little too heavy on the metal, if you know what I mean!  The highlight always includes a visit from Rumble.  This year was no exception. 
Funniest story of the evening...
The kids were running around while Rumble was taking pics with different groups.  When Rumble was done, Owen ran up to him and said, "You can't catch me...I dare you!"  Owen then took off and Rumble took off after him.  Much to Owen's surprise, Rumble caught him and picked him up.  Rumble though Owen was laughing, so he was tickling and carrying him...but Owen was not laughing...he was SCREAMING!  Rumble hurried and put him down when he realized this, but the look on Owen's face was priceless.  He was terrified!!!  We were dying!!!
