Back to School

Well...our routine returned to normal on Thursday. FINALLY! School was a welcome event in light of the past few weeks...new job, moving, new daycare, etc. I don't have any pictures to post because I sent the camera with Mom & Dad who are in ALASKA for the next nine days! And they are having an awesome time!
Anyways...here are a few stories to make you smile!
First, Open House was last Monday night. Mom & Grandma T came to stay with Owen and Richard, Harper and I went to visit Harper's new school (it is actually the elementary school I went to as a kid!). So we set off to the new school...it is so close to our new house, that we decided to walk. Harper and I had been role-playing how to introduce herself to her teacher. And she was doing great. But it all fell apart...when she said, "I'm Harper! I am going to walk to school everyday!" What? Well, I guess it was just wishful thinking.
Thursday was the official First Day of School. Harper goes to Pre-K in the AM and stays at school for a "daycare" like program in the PM. Her teacher in the afternoon is Miss Vicki. Apparently, Harper raised her hand in the middle of story time and said, "Excuse me Miss Vicki. When is it going to be naptime?" That first day must have really worn her out.
Thursday night I asked her if she had used the cool bathroom that is in her Pre-K room and she said NO! She had used the other bathroom in the school. When asking why, she replied, "The bathroom in the class is like a barn! The top door is always open! I don't want the kids to hear me." It is one of those split doors and I guess they leave the top part open to keep an eye on the kids. I don't know why she was being so modest. Friday, when I picked her up, she said she had used the Classroom Bathroom! Yeah!
Hopefully more fun stories to follow this week!
P.S. Owen is doing great at his new daycare! He smiles really BIG at Miss Carolyn everytime we drop him off! They just keep saying, "Wow, he is advanced!" I guess his coo's and ohhh's are gifted! :)

Glad to hear your life is getting back to normal. Now if only mine could! Can't wait to see pictures of Harper going to school and the new house...and those pictures from Alaska. I bet there will be some good ones.
