We set out a few weeks ago on our annual family vacation. This year we headed east, which doesn't happen very often. We decided to visit our Nation's Capitol and NYC for the week. The kids were actually really good in the car and we only had to stop about every 3 hours for fuel. When we stopped, we would all pile out, potty, grab some snacks and hit the road again. They had lots of DVDs, toys, coloring books and adults to entertain them.
We broke the drive into two days. The first day/night we drove to Knoxville, TN. We spent the next day at Dollywood Amusement Park. It is very similar to Silver Dollar City, but seemed to have a few more rides. Owen had a ton of fun riding the rides his size with Grandma and Boppy. Harper, Rich and I rode some roller coasters and went on this awesome ropes course. I was so surprised that Harper did all of the activities on the ropes course. She was very brave! Slightly braver than I was!
The day after Dollywood, we loaded up again and headed into College Park, MD where we stayed the rest of the week. It was a very long car ride...but it went so smoothly...we might do it again sometime!
