March 2014

March was a cold month!  It was nice to see the sun start to peek out though!
We started out the month with a visit to the Bricktown Ballpark to watch our HS team take on a local opponent.  It was fun to be outside, but it was CHILLY!

Our holiday celebration this month was St. Patrick's Day!  We celebrated in style by making Green, Lucky Charm Waffles.  Complete with Whipped Cream!  Yum!  We finished off the day with a trip to the Zoo!  Cold, but the animals thought it was perfect weather.  They were all out playing and we got to see some fun stuff.

The best part about March is SPRING BREAK!!! Since we put in a pool this year, we opted to skip Disney World.  But a trip to Silver Dollar City was just what the doctor ordered for some relaxation and adventure!  We rode a ton of rides and had a great time in Branson.  Probably the best part was the place we stayed.  We opted to stay in the Pioneer Cabin at the Wilderness Campground.  Harper is really in to Little House on the Prairie Books and this was what got us interested in the cabin.  Just like what Laura lived in.  No bathroom either!  Had to use the communal potty.  A super fun adventure to kick off Spring!

Spring is a bittersweet time!  It is the end of many of our sports and the beginning of others.  March brought the end to Owen's indoor soccer season and basketball league and the beginning of T-ball.  No matter what the sport is...he is excited!

This month was also a first for Harper!  She had her very first dance competition with Dance Showcase USA!  Her director warned us that it would be crazy Dance Mom Central...and boy was she right!  Kind of comical!  It didn't matter that we didn't bring any drama...Harper had an absolute blast.  Her company got Platinum and Third Place.  Hardwork paid off and it was fun to dance in a different environment.  Next year we get to go to two competitions!  I can't wait to see what those bring! ;)

And a March in Oklahoma wouldn't be complete without SNOW!!!  We had several snow days during the month and the kids had tons of fun playing outside.  Hazen even got to come over and play in the snow with us one day!
