Movie Stars on the Red Carpet

This year, Harper really wanted to have her birthday party at a "place" but she just couldn't decide what that place would be.  Every idea always came back to our house.  So I came up with the plan of having a movie party and watching a movie in the backyard (with a projector and a sheet).  She loved that idea...but had to add her Harper flair to it.  She asked all of her friends to dress up like their favorite movie characters for the party.  Unfortunately, that night was extremely chilly and windy...so we had to move the party to the garage.  It actually worked out wonderfully.  Richard set up the movie on one side of the garage and we had tables on the other side for food, presents and crafts.  All of the girls looked so cute as they arrived and headed to the garage.  Harper asked Grandma to make her a Pocahontas costume...it was so cute!  We ate pizza for super...boy can some of the girls eat pizza!  I guess this is just a precursor to teenagers!  Then we made crafts, opened presents and got ready for the cake.  A local lady here in town made the cake and I was super impressed.  Harper was so surprised!  She loved it!
After the cake, the girls each got a box of movie candy, some popcorn and headed over to the sheets with pillows and blankets for the show.  They decided to watch Dolphin Tale.  They were all getting very sleepy but still weren't ready to leave once the party was over.  We had a great time celebrating Harper's 8th Birthday!
